Realfast has recently received a number of calls regarding printing problems with the HP printers. At this time it appears to be a problem with the HP printer driver software, as we are not experiencing this problem with other printers, including many other HP printers.
The following information provides a workaround to the problem until the new driver is made available.
Printing from Realfast Using a newer model HP Printer:
1. Once your contract is open. Click on file and go down to Print Setup and change the printer to the Realfast PDF Converter, using the pull down arrow on the top right. Click OK.
2. Click on File and go down to Print Form. Once the Print Screen pops up, click cancel.
3. Click on File and go down to Print Setup. Change the Printer back to the HP Printer that is causing trouble. Click OK.
4. Click File and go down to Print Form. Click OK to print. Your HP Printer will now work until the Realfast application is closed and restarted.
Once you close out, you will have to follow steps 1 through 4 again.
Problem: Print dialog screen is corrupted, and forms do not print
When you choose Print Form from the Realfast Forms File menu, the Print dialog screen appears, but the text showing which printer is selected is overlapped with text from the Convert to PDF function, and other option boxes appear that should not.
A sample of the corrupted screen is shown below:
If you click OK to print, the form will not print. Converting or emailing the form as a PDF file results in a small file with no pages in it that Adobe cannot open.
The screen should look like the one below:
Workaround: Turn off the "Advanced Printing Option" from within Realfast Forms
The Advanced Printing Features option must be set to "disabled" each time Realfast Forms is started. Please note that this option can also be set by changing the properties of the printer outside of Realfast Forms, but this method does not solve the problem.
