Some of the most common questions about downloading from the Internet are answered below.
1. Do I need to do anything before starting the download?
Yes, please make sure you close out of all applications except your internet browser. It is especially important that you are logged out of Realfast and Realfast Setup.
2. How do I update my computer with the latest forms?
You can download the entire Realfast program onto your computer and/or get the updated forms by running the Download from the Realfast website at www.realfast.com. Just click the Associations menu, then select your forms and follow the instructions.
3. Shall I select Open/Run or Save when prompted 'Would you like to Open the File or Save it to your Computer?' from the "File Download" Dialog Box?
The easiest way to download Realfast is to click the Open/Run button. Some browsers (such as Netscape) do not give you the option to Open or Run and only give you the option to Save. If this is the case click here for the instructions on how to Download using the Save button.
4. Why do I get a message that says 'Some files may harm your computer' and/or 'This type of file could harm your computer if it contains malicious code' and/or 'The authenticode signature could not be verified'?
This message is a Microsoft Standard Dialog box that lets users know that anytime you run an .EXE (executable) file, you need to be sure it is from a safe source. You can be assured that the .EXE that the Realfast Install/Download program runs is safe. Our program does not pick up or send viruses.
5. How do I know if the download was successful?
When the installation is complete, the last screen of the installation program will display the following message:
"The installation of Realfast and the <your state> forms has been completed."
Click Finish to close the installation program. Your computer will now be updated with the latest forms for your state.
6. How can I verify that I have the latest forms?
To check if you have the lastest forms update, simply go to the download screen (where you clicked "Download Now"; #2 above describes how to find this page), and look below "Download Now" for a link to your States" Forms and its updates (i.e. " Colorado Association of REALTORS, last updated <date>"). Click on that link, and it will show you what the lastest update entails, then you can compare that to the forms list in the Realfast program. Below the forms updates, it will list all the forms available for that State.
7. What if the download performed successfully, but I still don't seem to have the latest forms?
You may need to delete the Temporary Internet Files in order to allow the new Update to take. From Internet Explorer, click Tools, then Internet Options from the drop down menu. Click Delete Files, and then click the Delete all Offline Content checkbox. Click OK and wait for your mouse to return to being an arrow, then click OK in the Internet Options box. Now go through the steps to Update your Realfast software again.
8. How can I safely uninstall Realfast from my computer?
(Note: These instructions will NOT delete from your computer any of the contracts, usernames and passwords, or clauses that you may have created. These instructions are only for uninstalling the Realfast program and forms.)
To safely uninstall Realfast from a computer, Click Start, (normally located in the lower left of your screen) then Control Panel. When the control panel opens, double-click on Add/Remove Programs. Select the Realfast program by clicking on it and click the Change/Remove button that will appear next to the program (after you have selected it). Repeat the steps in the previous sentence until you no longer see any more listings for the Realfast program.
(NOTE: Your forms/data are all stored in C:\Rfwin\Data. Uninstalling the program, does not delete this folder. It contains all user info - logon/password, all contracts, all templates, any clauses, your company name/address/etc. If you delete the Rfwin folder, you will loose all of this, be careful with this folder and its contents.
